Interest from Columbus Monthly in SENTRUM

Columbus Monthly, a respected magazine published in the state of Ohio, USA, focusing on urban life, arts and culture, and sustainability, visited Küçükköy—a district of Ayvalık known for its historical and cultural richness—and the SENTRUM project on site.

The visit was part of a week-long program organized with the support of the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA). During the Küçükköy stop, the SENTRUM project—carried out in collaboration with the Directorate General of Promotion of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TGA, Sabancı University, Enerjisa Enerji, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)—was introduced. The Columbus Monthly team toured the creative technologies workshop and the SENTRUM application center in Küçükköy, gaining firsthand insight into local efforts focused on sustainable tourism, renewable energy, and green transformation. They also explored the hiking and cycling routes developed as part of the project, along with the area’s natural and cultural heritage.

This special visit highlights the growing international interest in Küçükköy’s exemplary practices in sustainable tourism. The Columbus Monthly team's experience will help promote Küçükköy as a “green destination model” on a global scale.
